Parents For Children’s Mental Health has been offering support to parents with children with mental health challenges through various programs and related support groups in the Region since 2005. We do this by sharing knowledge and personal experiences and by representing our groups of families in capacities such as advisory committees (education and government, service systems, etc.)
After closing the Cambridge support group due to low attendance, and lack of a facilitator to run the group, we are going to try something a little different.
We have heard that some parents would be better able to meet during the day instead of the evening. So, in addition to our phone support, usually during crisis, we thought we’d give a drop-in session at several locations in the Region, in Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo to try and better meet parent’s needs. This way we can provide information and support by way of answering questions that parents may have that arise during these sessions.
We hope that the new model will reach more parents who are seeking information to help with the complex needs of their kids.
Please join us and bring your questions to our DROP-IN Sessions:
