Our aim is...
kidsLINK seeks to help children, youth and families achieve mental wellness. In doing so, kidsLINK will focus on helping people up to 18 years of age to:
a) choose wellness
b) be resilient
c) lessen the potential negative impact of trauma
By 2017, all of kidsLINK's services and products will be based on our wellness knowledge, resilience-building methods and trauma-informed principles (W-R-T).
Children, youth, their parents or caregivers and professionals from any country will feel welcomed to receive or learn more about our wide-ranging services.
As of 2014, kidsLINK will be:
- Helping to heal those suffering from complex and recurring trauma
- Helping to build resilience in children and youth
- Promoting and enabling holistic wellness in families (children and their parents)
- Transferring knowledge on wellness, resilience and the impact of trauma to child, youth and family services professionals and multidisciplinary student interns
- Promoting system change to end the inadvertent re-traumatization of children and youth by services and the service system
- Modeling an integrative, sustainable and effective health care service.
kidsLINK's centre for wellness will be grounded in the values of Notre Dame of St. Agatha as established by the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
In carrying out our mission, we strive for excellence in our knowledge and treatment of children and families.
