Residential Treatment Services
Residential Treatment Services is for children who experience challenges so severe that they need to live in a treatment setting for a period of time to get the help they need. A child in Residential Treatment Services lives in a home-like setting with several other children. Skilled child and youth counselors and child and family therapists provide treatment focusing on each child’s unique needs, as well as constant supervision. Each child and family have a team of professionals working toward helping them achieve what is needed for the child to return home.
Referrals to Residential Treatment Services begin at Front Door (519-749-2932), but must be approved by a committee of community professionals which meets monthly.
The Child and Family Therapy Program provides treatment to children in (or about to be entering) the School Treatment Program and Residential Treatment Services, as well as to their families. In addition, the child and family therapists provide family counselling and trauma treatment to children in Waterloo Region. Referrals to the Child and Family Therapy Program are made through Front Door, 519-749-2932.
