Comprehensive Residential Services
Comprehensive Residential Services (CRS) came into being in 2001 when kidsLINK’s residential treatment services for children with severe mental health challenges were threatened by government cuts. Instead of struggling to maintain an unsustainable service or closing it down, kidsLINK expanded it and optimized its capacity. Comprehensive Residential Services sells intervention for very complex children in the child welfare system. Surpluses from this $1.4-million venture are reinvested in bolstering underfunded programs. It has sustained and extended both kidsLINK’s mission capacity and the provincial government’s funded mental health services.
