Trauma-informed System of Care
On May 29, 2012, a Symposium was held at kidsLINK on Trauma-informed Systems of Care. The Key-note Speaker was Dr. Ann Jennings. Participants from various government and social service agencies were in attendance, as well as others in the community interested in the topic. Choices for our environment
From relying on more natural light in our meeting rooms to using biodegradable toilet paper, kidsLINK is making a major commitment to reduce our impact on the environment.
Earth-friendly products have replaced most of the chemicals we use in the residences. We have also purchased new equipment that uses microfibre systems and technology to cut down on the chemicals and water we use by as much as 80 per cent! The technology also decreases the potentially harmful products entering our waste stream, while microfibre produces a cleaner, healthier physical environment for all.
For paper products such as paper towels, paper plates and toilet paper, we’re choosing recycled fibres, 100 per cent biodegradable materials, and tree-less paper. We’re also choosing products made through manufacturing process , which require less water and energy. Our garbage bags are biodegradable and even our new office chairs include fabrics with 100 per cent recycled polyester content.
This is just the beginning for kidsLINK.
We’ll make more green choices throughout the organization as we contract suppliers with eco-friendly philosophies and earth-friendly ideals who use renewable and recycled materials in the products they produce. As we become better informed about our impact on the environment, we also learn how to counteract it by making small changes in our daily routines.
We will continue to make green choices to benefit those around us, both at work and at home.
